Business Lab

Dr N.S.A.M. First Grade College has a well-equipped Business Lab with Computers and other business related models and charts. The idea behind the establishment of the Business Lab is to have the necessary resources to provide practical exposure to the students in the field of commerce. The Business Lab organizes regular activities on various topics viz. Stock Market, Insurance, Banking, Marketing, and Finance. Also covered are Filing of IT Returns, Mock Interview, Review and analysis of Financial Statement of various companies, and Motivational stories of successful entrepreneurs. The business lab also conducts various socio-economic awareness programs.

On 17 Aug 2019, the Business Lab of Dr. N.S.A.M First Grade College conducted an activity named “Ad Designing”which was open for all the students of B.Com and BBA. The objective was to design an advertisement and plan a campaign for a product.

Totally, SIX teams participated in this activity and they came out with beautiful and eye catching designs. The activity provided a platform for the students to express their creativity and imagination. The task was to understand the product as well as the needs of the consumer and convey how it can provide satisfaction by meeting the requirements. The planning, design and execution had to be completed within a stipulated time period.

Mr. Chiranjevi, Mr. Gowtham Kumar C.K, Mr. Shekar and Ms. Lakshmi, members of the faculty of the Department of Commerce and Management, coordinated jointly to conduct the event successfully along with the student coordinators.

A Report on Beg-Borrow-Steal

The Business Lab of Dr. N.S.A.M First Grade College conducted an activity, which it called “Beg-Borrow-Steal” for the students of B.Com and BBA on 07 August 2019.

The students were divided into groups of twenty four participants and they were given a task wherein they had to arrange for different items as required by the judges. The group that was able to collect and bring the desired items within the allotted time was declared the winner.

This activity provided a platform to the students to understand the need for planning their requirements; it taught them how planning can be done for the various functions in organizations and the sources from where resources can be raised to execute these plans.

Mr. Chiranjevi, Mr. Gowtham Kumar C.K, Mr. Shekar and Ms. Lakshmi, faculty members of Commerce and Management helped in the successful conduct of this activity along with the student coordinators.

On 2 Aug 2019, the Commerce & Business Lab organized a unique event – Collage - at the college Seminar Hall in which the students of B.Com and BBA participated.

The event was inaugurated by the Principal along with the HOD, Commerce and Management, and the HOD, Language Department in the presence of faculty members and student coordinators.

The theme of the Collage was “Budget-2019”. Totally, there were thirty participants, who came out with informative, interesting and innovative charts depicting the theme.

Mr. Gowtham C.K, Mr. Shekar and Mr. Chiranjeevi, members of the faculty, Department of Commerce &Management, had taken the lead to organize this event. Their efforts were ably supported by the student coordinators.

We thank all who contributed to the success of the event and look forward to more such path breaking initiatives.

A Report on Treasure Hunt

Business Lab, Dr N.S.A.M. First Grade College, Bangalore, conducted inter class Treasure Hunt event with the theme “Know Your Campus” on 6 Mar 2019.

The event began with lighting of lamp by Principal Dr R Shanti Iyer. Totally, 12 teams from all classes actively participated and exhibited their skill and talent. Dr Annapurna Kishore, Mrs. Aasha and Ms. Bhavya were judges for the event.

Following were adjudged the winners:

  • I Prize – II B. Com., Section B
  • II Prize – III B. Com., Section C
  • III Prize – III B. Com., Section A

The event was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Convenor – Business Lab.
